LINDSAY BELL

1. I can honestly say I have not participated in any events.  My employers  are both gay men happily married. I started working for them back in 2002.  In my opinion, all human beings are created equal.

2.  I have two boys, one turning 14 very shortly.  He speaks of his sex education classes and knows all about the different types of orientations.  I have very little personal knowledge of the curriculum.

3.  Just recently my son spoke of a transgender who attended his school but left because of being harassed.  Education is the key and directly linked to being open minded

4.Untreated mental illness has severe consequences.  With no real place to call home, the street quickly become home.  The big question is how do we give these people the help they need.  On a volunteer basis?  Supportive housing? Im unsure of the real nature of the psychiatric help they will receive

In a perfect world the government would build safe, loving mental institutions and give them the help they so desperately need.

5. My first thought is the price of affordable rent.  It could also be related to the nature of our seasonal business.  Supply and demand must play a role.  Low paying jobs.  Finally they leave for adventure of the unknown.

6. Everyone has a voice that needs to be heard within the walls of city hall. The more informed Mayor and council know about special interest groups in the community, the more they can help them.  Im a big fan of encouraging groups to form committees and have a elected official sit on the committee and play liaison between the group and city hall.  Voices are heard and changes can be made.
